Sisterhood

The sisterhood found here at the Alpha Kappa chapter of Alpha Xi Delta is full of kind-hearted women, unwavering support, lots of laughter, and above all, constant love. Every moment we share is a true display of genuine hearts. Our sisterhood exists to encourage every member to realize her potential, a role each women excitedly fulfills out of authentic care for her sisters. Organizing events to celebrate our sisterhood allows for opportunities to grow in our friendships with one another all while doing something fun!

Throughout the fall of 2023, our sisterhood team put on events every month so that our chapter could bond and spend time together. We kicked off the school year with an all chapter retreat held at the local Britt's Farm. This was an opportunity for newly formed "families" to spend time together after big/little reveal. There, we all took a trip around the farm on a hay bale ride, attempted to navigate the corn maze, and finished off the evening sharing s'mores around the campfire! In October, we decorated trucker hats with stickers and iron-on patches. It was so much fun seeing everyone's creative side come out for this activity! In November, we commend the colder weather by going ice-skating. Our more skilled sisters were gracious in helping the ones newer to skating while on the ice, and overall, it was a successful night! When finals week rolled around in December, the sisterhood team catered açaí bowls to our house. All members were invited to stop by, build their own bowl, and spend quality time with their sisters as a pick-me-up during the stress that comes with the end to a semester. In addition to motivating one another to grow in courage, graciousness, and peace, we also cheer each other on academically!

These are just a few ways that we were able to exhibit our intentional, trustworthy, and generous sisterhood last semester. Sisterhood like this is not common to come by, and we sincerely cherish each moment we are able to spend with each other, as sisters! There will be so many more great moments to come from the spring semester, and we can't wait to go through them side by side!
