Our Home

Welcome to 601 Fairchild Terrace! Our beautiful and cozy home, often referred to as the "Xi Mansion" by our sisters, was built in 1936. It was later expanded in 1963 to accommodate more women and has held generations of memories since!

Upon entering our house you will find a large rec and formal room both designed by Alpha Xi alumnae as well as an original date room where men once met their Alpha Xi dates! On the main level, there is also a large dining room where you can always find sisters eating a meal or working on homework together. We have a fabulous kitchen staff that makes us meals every day of the week. Other common areas include an upstairs study room, where women enjoy working on homework together, and a basement TV room.

Since we strongly encourage academic success in our sisterhood, we also have a large study room in our basement. It is 24-hours quiet and features a printer that is always available to our sisters for free. During the warmer months, we love spending time with one another on the front porch and lawn too. Our comfortable outdoor furniture is the perfect spot to study or relax all day long.

Throughout the house, we have rooms for our sisters with an abundance of storage space, desks, and comfy benches. Many women love to spend time with one another in their rooms as well as the common areas. We also have sleeping dorms on our third floor where it is 24-hours dark and quiet; it's basically like an endless slumber party!

Our house mom, Mom Deb, is always around to help with whatever we need as well. She is a constant friendly face who is more than willing to listen and give advice at any time. Mom Deb has been with us for about two years now, and we can't imagine our home without her!

A few additional features of our home:

  • Fingerprint security system on all exterior doors
  • Outdoor security cameras
  • Laundry room with 3 washers and 3 dryers
  • Netflix and HDMI ports on the TV
  • Wireless internet connection
  • All-call system throughout the house
  • 40 assigned parking spaces

We are so grateful for our local housing corporation board, Mom’s Club, and alumnae that help us update our house and keep our home running smoothly. We love the friendship and sisterhood created in this home and will forever cherish the memories made here!
