Alpha Xi Delta

Alpha Kappa at Kansas State University

Letter From New Member Team

About Our New Member Program:

"Hello, Friends! My name is KB Hennes and I am Alpha Xi Delta's New Member Educator. My job is to help you during your new member process in order to help you feel confident, comfortable, and excited about what life as an Alpha Xi has in store for you. Alpha Xi Delta strives to provide meaningful and memorable lifetime experiences, starting with our new member education program. This 10-week program is designed to help new members learn about different aspects of Alpha Xi Delta, such as history, values, philanthropy and leadership opportunities. This program is also designed to create a sense of belonging for new members while building lifelong friendships with women in your membership class and in the chapter.

Through this program you will have the opportunity to meet many amazing women along with members from our executive board and the new member assistants. These women will provide support and information throughout the 10-weeks. We will also host a new member retreat which allows you to get to know your memberships class better. You will also meet initiated members who will take you on "Buddy Dates." These dates will help you get to know members of Alpha Xi Delta on a deeper level. Whether it is going to Sonic, getting cookie bakes, or walking the Konza these dates will help you find sisterhood in Alpha Xi Delta. In many cases, one of your "buddies" will become you Big. The Big/Little process is set in place to help new members further their friendships within our chapter. In addition to these activities, Alpha Xi Delta offers a variety of other ways for members to get connected with each other. For example, Alpha Xi puts together various intramural teams and sisterhood events. Alpha Xi Delta's sisterhood is truly like no other, and we want to help our sisters create a home." -- KB Hennes, New Member Orientation Director

About Member Development:

"One of the main goals of being an Alpha Xi Delta is helping our members realize their potential. This means encouraging women to take on leadership roles within the chapter as well as in other campus organizations. The women in this chapter encourage members to try new things and find leadership roles that highlight their individuality.

Here at Alpha Xi Delta at Kansas State University, we offer the New Member Program, Big/Little, the Inspire Program, volunteer opportunities, academic resources, and various leadership positions that all help members gain valuable leadership skills and build meaningful friendships. College is a time of growth and we hope to be an essential part of our members as well as encouraging those around us what they are capable of. We want this to be a time when members create memories that will last a lifetime and realize their potential." - Kristin Gerety, Member Development Vice President
