Alpha Xi Delta’s Philanthropic Focus

The Kindly Hearts Initiative

The Kindly Hearts Initiative serves as the umbrella to our national philanthropic focus of supporting children and teens experiencing foster care or homelessness. Alpha Xi Deltas across the country support two Key Impact Organizations, FosterClub and StandUp for Kids, making a national and regional difference under the umbrella of our focus.

Letters of Love

All Alpha Xi Delta chapters and alumnae associations participate in Letters of Love, Alpha Xi Delta’s national letter writing fundraising campaign. Held annually during the month of November this campaign benefits Alpha Xi Delta’s two Key Impact Organizations, StandUp for Kids and FosterClub.

Our Chapter's Impact:

The Kindly Hearts Initiative

Alpha Xi Delta’s philanthropy, The Kindly Hearts Initiative, is one that is so incredibly special to us. The Kindly Hearts Initiative serves as the umbrella to our philanthropic focus on supporting children experiencing foster care or homelessness. The Alpha Kappa chapter specifically serves the local impact of the USD 383 FIT Closet. The FIT Closet helps students who are enrolled in the USD 383 school district. This can be through providing school supplies, clothing, or other essential resources to help them integrate successfully into school and thrive in their academic journey. One of our favorite parts of working with the USD 383 FIT Closet is that each week our members have the opportunity to volunteer at the FIT Closet!

The community in the Manhattan area is so incredibly special and has continued to support Alpha Xi Delta. We strive to give back to the community that has already given so much support to us! In the spring we host a prom drive through Manhattan High School where we partner with the FIT Closet, a Kansas State fraternity, and the MHS National Honor Society. This event gives us the opportunity to collect and donate prom dresses, menswear, shoes, and accessories. Additionally in the spring, we love hosting our Cookies for a Cause event right around Valentine’s Day. We partner up with the Eileen’s to sell and distribute over 300 bags to the Manhattan community.

One of Alpha Xi Delta’s favorite events, both for the members and for the community, would have to be our spring event, Late Night Wings. At this event, we serve wings, sing karaoke, and partner up with local Manhattan businesses for an exciting raffle. A close second favorite is without a doubt, Guac and Roll. This is our fall nacho event that is the perfect opportunity to bring everyone back together after summer break. In addition, in the fall we also host a fraternity soccer tournament that we call Soccer Frenxi and despite this being a bit newer, it has quickly become another favorite of ours. Alpha Xi Delta is so proud to work with the USD 383 FIT Closet, as well as the local Manhattan community. We are so grateful for the opportunity we have to put on these exciting and fun events, and we look forward to continue to see the growth over the years!
