Alpha Xi Delta’s Philanthropic Focus

The Kindly Hearts Initiative

The Kindly Hearts Initiative serves as the umbrella to our national philanthropic focus of supporting children and teens experiencing foster care or homelessness. Alpha Xi Deltas across the country support two Key Impact Organizations, FosterClub and StandUp for Kids, making a national and regional difference under the umbrella of our focus.

Letters of Love

All Alpha Xi Delta chapters and alumnae associations participate in Letters of Love, Alpha Xi Delta’s national letter writing fundraising campaign. Held annually during the month of November this campaign benefits Alpha Xi Delta’s two Key Impact Organizations, StandUp for Kids and FosterClub.

Our Chapter's Impact:

The Kindly Hearts Initiative

Alpha Xi Delta is incredibly passionate about our philanthropy, The Kindly Hearts Initiative. The Kindly Hearts Initiative serves as the umbrella to our philanthropic focus on supporting children experiencing foster care or homelessness. The Alpha Kappa chapter serves the local impact of the USD 383 FIT Closet. The FIT Closet provides clothing, school supplies and hygiene items to families receiving free or reduced meals within the Manhattan-Ogden school district.

Community is so special here in Manhattan, and we strive to give back to the community who has supported us so much. This past spring we hosted a prom drive through Manhattan High school where we partnered with the FIT Closet, the men of Theta Xi, and MHS National Honor Society. We collected over 300 dresses and 100 items of menswear. Additionally every fall we host a trunk or treat at our chapter facility where families all over the community come to hang out and play games! Over Valentine’s day we had our Cookies for a Cause event where we sold and distributed over 425 bags of Eileens cookies to our community.

If you asked the women in our chapter, they would tell you their favorite event is Late Night Wings in the spring where we serve boneless wings and sing karaoke! This year we raffled a Yeti Cooler, a gift card to Tanners Bar and Grill, an Apple Watch, and many other fun prizes! A close second favorite event is Guac and Roll our fall nacho event, it’s a great event to bring everyone back together after a long summer! Our newest event is Soccer Frenxi, a fraternity soccer tournament. We are so excited to see how much it grows this year!
