Chapter Philanthropy

Alpha Xi Delta is so proud to currently be the highest grossing philantrophic chapter on campus for Autism Speaks!

Alpha Xi Delta is so proud to bring Autism Speaks to Kansas State University campus. The Alpha Kappa chapter has raised over $33,000 for Autism Speaks through various philanthropy events this past year alone. As the world’s largest autism advocacy organization, Autism Speaks is dedicated to increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders, funding research into the cause, and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.

Alpha Xi Delta events include the first philanthropy event of the semester on campus, Nacho FrenXi, an all you can eat nacho bar with live music entertainment. In the past this event has included local artists such as Dillon Cowing. Alpha Xi Delta wraps up the beginning of the semester with the AmaXing Challenge. A 5K run through K-State campus. Many in our K-State family and Manhattan community come and support our philanthropy.

Second semester, Alpha Xi Delta supports Autism Awareness Month of April with the Light It Up Blue campaign. Chapters across campus help raise awareness for Autism lighting their chapter homes up blue with light bulbs and reefs. On April 2, 2016, we lit up Anderson Hall with blue lights to show support for National Autism Awareness Day. We also include the Xi Man Pageant in April. This all male pagaent enters one fraternity man from each chapter to compete for the title of Xi Man. This event includes formal wear, talent, social media competitions and much more!

Our Sisters increase autism awareness on our campus by working with Autism Speaks through our annual philanthropies in the fall and spring, as well as promoting Autism Awareness month on the K-State Campus.
