Alpha Xi Delta

Alpha Kappa at Kansas State University

Social

At Kansas State University, we are nothing short of a family. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable, and at Alpha Xi Delta we take pride in these qualities too. From Homecoming to date parties to family weekends Alpha Xi Delta holds a variety of social events throughout the year. Not only are they a fun way for us to spend time with our sisters but they also a great opportunity to make other friends in the Greek community and show our families the place we now call home!

Alpha Xi Delta holds several date parties each semester, all with fun and different themes! Our most recent date party themes have been CraXi 80’s, Dynamic Duos, Aloha Xi Delta and Welcome to Xi Jungle. Our sisters have a ton of fun dressing up and getting creative with their costumes for these social events. Every December we have a Tacky Christmas date party to get in the holiday spirit right before winter break too! We also give our sisters the opportunity to dress up each semester for our semi formal in the fall and our Pink Rose formal in the spring.

In addition to our date parties we also plan functions with different fraternities and sororities throughout the year. This past semester we played sand volleyball, went bowling, and competed in minute-to-win-it games with several other chapters. We often do “dinner swaps” with other fraternities too in which some of their men come to our house and some of our women go to their house to eat dinner. We love to host these events because they are the perfect opportunity to meet new friends in the Greek community!

Homecoming, a longstanding tradition for both Greek and non-Greek organizations at K-State, is another exciting way we get to spend time with other chapters in the community. Paired with fraternities, we compete in events like Wildcat Request Live, Pant the Chant and Paint the ‘Ville all week long! Alpha Xi Delta has consistently placed in events each year, and we’re always looking forward to this campus tradition!

We don’t forget about our families either! There are few things we enjoy more than showing our loved ones how much fun both Alpha Xi Delta and Manhattan are. During the fall semester we have Dad’s Day where we all invite our dads to Colbert Hills for brunch and then head over to the K-State football game to cheer on the Cats!

Then in the spring semester we invite our siblings and moms to spend fun-filled weekends with us too! Last year for Siblings Day we put together a scavenger hunt all over Manhattan and then went ice skating. For Mom’s Day we had lunch, dinner and a canvas painting party!
